Log in to Entrust Desktop for Windows from Identity as a Service

If your organization add extra security for logging in to Windows computers by using Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows, you can use your Identity as a Service authenticators to log in to your computer.

Log in to Entrust Desktop from Identity as a Service

Open the log in screen of your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows.

Enter your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows account username and password.

Click Next. You are prompted to complete an authentication challenge.

Respond to the authentication challenge. (See Using authenticators if you need help).

Click Login to access your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows application account.

Set up KBA for offline use

Like any offline authentication method, Offline knowledge-based authentication (KBA) must be set up online (allowing the challenge to be saved locally) before it can be used offline.

Complete the following steps to set up Offline KBA when logging in to your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows account.

Access the login screen of your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows.

Enter your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows account user name and password.

Click Next. Your are prompted to complete an authentication challenge.

At the second-factor authentication screen, select Update Offline Q&A before completing the challenge.

A query is made to Identity as a Service to verify that the user has KBA enabled and a challenge is ready for use.

Complete the authentication challenge and then click Next.

The KBA questions that must be answered appear.

Enter the correct answers to complete the challenge.

If all responses entered are correct, the KBA questions and answers are stored locally for future offline authentications. A success message appears confirming that the Offline KBA questions and answers have been registered.

Click OK. You are logged in to your Entrust Desktop for Microsoft Windows account.
