The Update function allows you to update mobile smart credentials with a certificate authorities or smart credential definitions that have changed or expired with new ones. The CAs and smart credential definitions are located on the administrator portal. Contact your administrator to confirm whether any changes have been made to a CA or smart credential definitions that require you to update your smart credentials.
You must have an email address to be able to activate your mobile smart credential using a link. If you do not have an email address, see Activate smart credential using a QR code.
Update smart credential
1. Go to > My Profile.
The My Profile page appears.
2. Click the Authenticators tab. Your list of assigned authenticators appears.
3. Click
to the right of the Smart
Credential - PIV that you want to update. A drop-down list appears.
4. Click
Update. The Update
dialog box appears.
5. Click Activate. An activation email is sent to your email address.
6. Open the email on your mobile device sent by noreply@trustedauth.com.
Tip: You can also complete the steps below by opening the email on your computer or by scanning the QR code using a mobile device.
7. Tap either of the links or the QR code in the email.
8. Optional: If prompted, enter the PIN required to access the smart credential mobile app. The Update Identity page appears.
9. Tap Update. A confirmation message appears. Tap Yes.
The smart credential Identity begins downloading the smart credential information from Identity as a Service. This can take several minutes.
Once complete, an Update Complete popup appears.
10. Tap OK.
You are prompted to either enter a new PIN or record the PIN that is displayed by the mobile application. That PIN must be entered whenever you authenticate using this mobile smart credential.
11. Enter a new PIN or record the PIN that is appears and then click OK. The mobile smart credential listed on your Authenticators page displays an Active state.
