A hardware token is a small device that generates a dynamic password. The numbers generated by the tokens are uniquely determined by the token data information loaded into each token. Hardware tokens can be used to authenticate to the Identity as a Service portal and applications.
You must enter the passcode before it expires. If it expires, you need to generate a new passcode and reattempt to authenticate. Every token has a unique, vendor-specific serial number.
Choose one of these procedures, as required.
In some cases your organization may ask you to assign hardware tokens to yourself rather than assign them for you. To self-assign, your organization needs to provide you with the hardware token and its serial number.
Add a hardware token
Click
> My Profile. The My Profile page appears.
Click the Authenticators tab. The Authenticators page appears.
Click
. A drop-down list of authenticators appears.
Select Hardware Token. The Add Hardware Token dialog box appears.
In the Token Serial Number field, enter the serial number. The serial number is found on the reverse side of the token.

In the Token Response field, enter the numeric code that appears on the token screen.
Click Add.
You can perform a number of actions with hardware tokens. These include:
Enable or disable a hardware token
This option is useful if you misplace your hardware token and need to disable. When you find it again, you can re-enable it.
Edit a label to a token
This option enables you to add a label to a token. This feature is helpful is you have more than one token for different uses and want to give each token an easily identifiable label or want to replace a serial number with an easy to remember label.
Synchronize a hardware token
A hardware token uses an internal clock uses to generate token codes. Over time, the token and the IDaaS clock can become out of sync, which can cause authentication attempts to fail. You can synchronize the hardware token if the clock falls out of sync. Synchronization also happens automatically when a successful token authentication occurs.
