Activate a Google Authenticator

You can add a Google Authenticator to your Identity as a Service account. You can have multiple Google Authenticators. For example, if you have multiple mobile devices, you might want to add a Google Authenticator to each one.

Go to > My Profile. The My Profile page appears.

Click the Authenticators tab. Your list of assigned authenticators appears.

Click . A drop-down list of authenticators appears.

Select Google Authenticator. The Activate Token dialog box appears. Leave this dialog box open.

Install the Google Authenticator app from either the Apple App Store or the Google Play store. The links appear on the Activate Token dialog box and in an email is sent to your email address if you have an email address.

Activate your Google authenticator using one of the following methods:

Open the email sent to you from Identity as a Service on your computer or your mobile device. The email is sent from noreply@trustedauth.com. The email contains a QR code and account information.

Install the Google app on your mobile device.

Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

Use one of the following methods to activate your Google Authenticator:

Scan the QR code in your email using the Google Authenticator application.

If the email appears on your mobile device, select the QR code. An Add token window appears that prompts you to confirm the addition of the QR code to the Google authenticator. Tap YES.

A response code appears in the Google Authenticator. This response code has an expiry period.

Enter the response code in the from the Google Authenticator in Step 3. Enter of the token response code from Google Authenticator app field.

Click OK to close the Activate Token dialog box to return to the Authenticators page. Your Google authenticator should show a status of Active.

Note: If you receive an invalid response message, then the token response has either expired or if you have multiple Google authenticators, it may be the response to activate another Google authenticator.

Note: To send a new email, click Send Email on the Activate Token dialog box.

If you do not have an email address, use one of the following methods:

Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

Select Scan a QR code.

Scan the QR code that appears on the Activate Token dialog box.

A response code appears in the Google Authenticator. This response code has an expiry period.

Enter the response code in the from the Google Authenticator in Step 3. Enter of the token response code from Google Authenticator app field.

Click OK to close the Activate Token dialog box to return to the Authenticators page. Your Google authenticator should show a status of Active.

Use Manual ActivationUse Manual Activation

Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.

Select Enter a setup key. The Enter Account Details tab appears.

Enter an Account Name.

Enter the Token Key that appears on the Activate Token dialog box in Identity as a Service.

Select the Type of Key (the default is Time based).

Click Add.

A response code appears in the Google Authenticator. This response code has an expiry period.

Enter the response code in the from the Google Authenticator in Step 3. Enter of the token response code from Google Authenticator app field.

Click OK to close the Activate Token dialog box to return to the Authenticators page. Your Google authenticator should show a status of Active.

Note: If you receive an invalid response message, then the token response has either expired or if you have multiple Google authenticators, it may be the response to activate another Google authenticator.

Reactivate your token

If you need to reactivate your token, on your Authenticators page, click  in the Actions column.

Select Reactivate from the drop-down list. Activate Token dialog prompt appears.

Follow the instructions to activate your token to complete the reactivation.
