In addition to the administrator tasks described in this section, login to a computer requires some configuration by users in the Entrust Identity app (formerly the Entrust IdentityGuard Mobile Smart Credential app) and on the computer to which they will log in. Some organizations might have administrators perform some of the configuration on the computers.

Activate a mobile smart credential (called a Smart Identity in the Entrust Identity app)
Ask your administrator about which activation procedures to use. Example activation methods are described in "Activate a smart identity" in the app help.
Complete the steps for Windows passwordless computer login.
In the Entrust Identity mobile app online help, see Smart Cards > Windows passwordless computer login or click https://web.entrust.com/mobile/info/help/id-mobile/#t=WinPwdless.htm.
Verify prerequisites.
Create a Bluetooth pairing of their mobile device and their computer (Windows).
(Optional) Configure Auto Connect.
Optional: Enable biometric authentication for computer login.
If you have configured biometric authentication for smart login, users can use either face recognition or fingerprint recognition instead of their smart credential PIN to log in to their Windows computers. In addition to administrative configuration of the feature (supported with Bluetooth Reader 3.0.3 or newer), users must enable their choice of biometric authentication in the app. Procedures are described in the Usage basics in the app help.
See https://web.entrust.com/mobile/info/help/id-mobile/#t=Enable_biometrics.htm.
If your Entrust Identity mobile app users used an earlier version of the Entrust Identity Bluetooth Smart Credential Reader with a hardware dongle to communicate with iOS devices, ensure that the following requirements are met:.
The dongle is removed from the user's computer. Dongle-less Bluetooth mode in newer versions of BTR for Windows (2.x, 3.x) is activated only after the dongle is removed.
Any Bluetooth pairings between the user's Windows computer and the user's iOS mobile device are removed from the computer and from the mobile device. (These end-user procedures are included in the app help.)
